Train up a child in the way he should go:
and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word,
in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity. 1 Timothy 4:12 (NKJV)
Through student Life we provide opportunities for teens to connect with other teens through a wide variety of activities and opportunities. Students are encouraged to plan and facilitate activities reflecting their own interests. Activities may be planned by teen committees with parents as advisors, with other activities are planned by parents with students as advisors. Activities are coordinated regionally in each of three teen groups, with two or three SCOPE-Wide activities per year. Some of these activities are but not limited to: outdoor game nights, Christmas party, costume party, pizza and politics, video game nights, movie nights, laser tag, swim parties, scavenger hunts, service projects, yearbook committee opportunities, etc.
As students approach their teen years, parents have new questions about high school, college and career requirements and opportunities. We seek to educate and support each other through speakers, networking, and sharing information through regular meetings and email updates. These meetings also provide time for fellowship and refreshment among parents whose goal it is to pursue home schooling through the high school years. Meeting locations rotate throughout the greater Sacramento area so that all may benefit.
An e-mail loop helps keep parents and Teens informed about upcoming activities as well as other homeschool opportunities from the greater homeschool community.
